Arizona's Premier LAP BAND specialist
Arizona LAP-BAND
|
You choose the LAP-BAND because it is the safest operation, because it is the least invasive, and because it is as effective as any other weight loss surgery. Now choose a practice that is dedicated to that operation, and the care after the LAP-BAND. The LAP-BAND is the only weight loss surgery we do -- we know how to take care of you. We do more LAP-BAND operations than any other practice in Arizona, Los Angeles, San Diego, New Mexico, or anywhere in southern California. It makes a difference who does your surgery, and who does your after-care -- the difference is always seen in those practices that are exclusively LAP BAND practices. It matters who does your surgery. You want a surgeon who is experienced in the operating room. But you also want a doctor who knows how to use the tool, to take you to your goal weight. Our practice offers more than an operation -- we help you use the operation to get to your goal. Why do our patients do better? Is it because ours is the oldest dedicated LAP-BAND facility in Arizona? Why do more of our patients get to their weight loss goal? Is it because, like other facilities dedicated to the LAP BAND, we know how to take care of LAP BAND patients? Is it having a team of individuals that know how to help? It is that our support group is filled with successful patients that can tell you how they did it with the LAP BAND? It is all of those things. We believe these procedures should be done by an experienced team, surgeons who know the band, surgeons dedicated to the band. Done in a hospital -- this is surgery, not a cosmetic procedure. Do you really want this done in an ambulatory surgery center? Do you really want someone rushing you out the door if you are not ready to go? Our hospital is the only physician-owned specialty hospital in Arizona - the hospital with the most experienced team. Should you spend the night you will find nurses who are there when you need them. The lowest infection rate of any hospital in Arizona, superior results- where patient safety comes first. Experience counts. Even before surgery we start to educate our patients; not only will you meet with the surgeon, the program director, you are going to meet with our nutritionist. Nutrition is the cornerstone of our practice. After surgery we have many ways we want to help you get to your goal, we want to help you through your journey. Through classes, the internet, publications, newsletters, and email -- we give you every opportunity to continue to learn about your new tool, and get you to your weight loss goal. Dr. Simpson meets with each of his patients to discuss their weight loss goals, and learn how to use your band. For our patients from out of town; we are honored that so many patients travel great distances to benefit from our experience, our superior outcomes and our positive customer experience. If you make the trip, know that we appreciate it and will take good care of you. |

Who will adjust your band? In our practice it is the surgeon, not a nurse, not a technician, but a surgeon. Why? Because we believe there is more to an adjustment than just a fill. We believe this is an opportunity to learn about how to use your band even more effectively. Adjusting the band is a critical component to your success. We have an open policy to your band adjustment. Not feeling full after meals, searching for food, and not having adequate weight loss may mean you need an adjustment. We adjust bands on Monday mornings, all day Thursday, and occasionally on Friday mornings. To learn about our policy click here.Need to come in for a fill -- call for an appointment -- thats all you have to do. We make it easy because we know that a properly adjusted band is critical to your success. |

All of our patients receive our workbook, "Getting to Goal and Staying There: Lessons learned from successful patients." We wrote the workbook that helps you get to goal. The behaviors of successful patients are a series of chapters and exercises in this workbook. Can't make the support group? Or sometimes people don't want to go to a support group -- we give support in a number of ways, but one key is in this workbook. No matter where you are, you can refer to this book and learn the simple behaviors that guide paitents through this journey. Our support groups are attended by our staff which includes our coordinator, nutritionist, and surgeon. |

Support Groups are held on the second floor of Surgical Speciality Hospital, 6501 N. 19th Ave in Phoenix. Saturday Seminars are also held on the second floor of this hospital |

No staples mean that your band is adjustable to you. That means the aftercare we provide to you isn't meant for an RNY-gastric bypass patient. |
