Before the LAP-BAND Bill was living
Now Bill is ALIVE!!!

I am a 26 year old mother of 2. I can't say that giving birth to my children is what made me fat I have always been fat. In fact, I will never forget my 8th grade gym teacher telling me that I had tipped the scale at 203 pounds. I guess over the years I had convinced myself that I could never be thin and that my body could handle the weight. Finally at 284 pounds my 5 year old daughter asked why the boy in her class kept saying her mommy was fat. It hurt but I could not lie to her. I had to tell her that although it is not nice to call people fat, it was true her mommy was fat, and that from now on she can tell the little boy that her mommy is working on it. That was the breaking point. It was one thing when I thought I was just hurting my self, but another to have my children hurt by my decisions. That was in January of 05' by March 05' I had looked at every option and spoken with several doctors including my primary care physician. We had decided that the LAP-BAND surgery was the best option for me and that Dr. Simpson was the best doctor for this procedure.
June 20th 2005 was the day of my surgery Dr. Simpson did an excellent job! I was very surprised at how quickly I recovered and how small the incisions were. Seven months later I had lost 100 pounds and have truly regained my life back. The band gives me the restriction that I need to remind myself that I have eaten enough and the freedom to still enjoy my food just in smaller portions. I can not thank Dr. Simpson and his staff enough they have all been great in making this process successful.
